This is a sketch John Lennon did called "The Hole Of My Life". John wrote on the sketch, "The hole of my life flashed before my eyes." He is looking through a black hole in astonishment as he sees his life passing before him. It is a reflection on a void that needs to be filled in everyone’s life, no matter how successful or secure. We all believe the quality of life can be improved. The hole is symbolic of the void in all our lives. The tricky part is figuring out what is missing. So often, we get so busy that we don't think about much of anything. We just try to get through this day. And we just try to get through the week to the weekend. Then we busy ourselves with errands and projects, until it's time to start the entire process all over again. The other thing is that, much of the time, we don't want to think about what's missing. We might be afraid that we'll never have whatever is missing. Or we fear that it will just be too painful to think about it. So we bury ourselves in our daily routines and get used to not filling that void. But the truth is, it never goes away. This is a reminder to take some time and reflect on where you are, and what you really want. Are you so busy doing for others that you don't do anything for yourself? Is there something you've always wanted to do, but you worry that you won't be successful at it. so you try not to think about it? It's time to face it. And without fear. You deserve to be happy and fulfilled. And once you shine a light on this emptiness, it becomes easier to figure out how you can fill it. It doesn't have to happen right away. Take your time. Any progress you can make, however small, will be rewarding. This card comes from an oracle deck I created based on the artwork of John Lennon. You can hear me read from this deck for callers on Psychic Tapestry's Love Show, with Toni DeMaio and Julia Hoffman, Friday's at 5:00pm Pacific on Blog Talk Radio!
