It's Only Rock 'N' Roll

Here is Ken's Daily Reading for you...

This card is from a sketch by John Lennon that he called "It's Only Rock 'N; Roll", a salute to the medium which made him famous. It was also a personal tribute to Elvis Presley, Elton John and the Rolling Stones.

Elvis is on stage, still making fans cheer. For Elton, the guitar is named "Benny" and the cheering women in the center of the front row has "Jets" on the back of her shirt. And the title comes from a song by the Rolling Stones.

I think there are two messages with this card.

First, celebrate the successes of those around you. We aren't all in competition. You should be happy for anyone you know that achieves what they want and what they are striving for.

The second message is more about messages in general. Sometimes, we're so eager to see signs and look for messages, that we overlook the inherent beauty, and wind up depriving ourselves of the joy of the moment.

Sometimes, a flower is just a flower. Sometimes, a bird is just a bird. And sometimes, It's Only Rock 'N' Roll.
